Lauren Crocker

Lauren Crocker is studying year12 English, maths methods, biology, chemistry and Indonesian at Benalla College.

I studied year12 health and human development last year and I got a perfect score.

When I read my result I thought it was a misprint. I was so proud and my parents were, too. I think the key was having a helpful teacher and doing extra research. I found it useful to find real-life examples, keep a study timetable, make summaries and stick up posters.

I had posters on the shower screen, so I'd read one side when I was washing my hair and the other side when I was brushing my teeth.

I want to get into nutrition at Charles Sturt Wagga-Wagga or at LaTrobe in Melbourne.

I'm interested in how health is linked to food. You are what you eat, after all.

I'm studying Indonesian. One day I hope to travel and use the language, working over there for Oxfam or another aid organisation.

I live on a sheep and cattle farm.

I help mum and dad on the property with shearing, drenching, feeding the sheep and cooking for the shearers.

At the moment I'm just focusing on outcomes, SACs and homework.

I still manage to get nine hours of sleep every night.
